Almighty God,
to whom all hearts are open,
all desires known,
and from whom all secrets are hidden:
cleanse the thoughts of our hearts
by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit,
that we may perfectly love you,
and worthily magnify your holy name;
through Christ our Lord.

“Make me ‘altogether a Christian,’ O recreating God.
Fill my heart to overflowing with your love.
Enable me to love my neighbor as I love myself.
Plant within me a sure trust and confidence that
Christ died for me and loves me still.
Let love be the test of my faith, O God.
Help me to be altogether and not simply almost a Christian.
Amen.”
