Transformation

Here are the reflections from the video from last week:

Describe Jenny:

Selfish.  She gets a lot of money per week.  She has more than I have.  Greedy.  Reminds you of a person.  She represents us.

What is affluenza?

A desire to get more and more.  Greed.  Selfishness.  Nothing is good enough.

Describe Annie:

She has a different view of life then us.  Helpful. Tattered clothes.  No education.  No church.  No bed.  She has less than what we can imagine.

How do we help?

We did 30 hour famine to begin helping.

Reply to this post to give more ideas on how we can help people like Annie.

Last week I shared the following petition regarding immigration reform from SoJo.net on Facebook.

http://go.sojo.net/campaign/ccir

I emailed the petition to my senator and here is her reply:

Dear Mr. Sheneman,

Thank you for contacting me regarding our nation’s immigration policy. I appreciate having the benefit of your comments.

I’m a strong supporter of immigrants who are legally coming to the Unites States, and I support efforts to preserve the laws that help keep families together. However, when it comes to the millions of illegal immigrants currently residing within our borders, I oppose granting them amnesty. Each and every one of these illegal immigrants is violating the laws of the United States. As a former prosecutor, I believe that those who break our law should be held accountable. While I will always demand that all individuals, regardless of their citizenship status, be treated humanely, I cannot support provisions that would grant citizenship to those who enter our country illegally without real consequences for their actions.

Tough enforcement of our laws must be balanced with our principles of freedom and democracy. We are a nation founded by immigrants, but we are also a nation founded upon the rule of law, and it is imperative that we respect both of these traditions. It is important to send a clear message to every new American that there is a right way and a wrong way to enter our country.

Again, thank you for contacting me. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future if I can be of further assistance to you on this or any other issue.

Sincerely,

Claire McCaskill
United States Senator

Join me in praying that God will open up the way for welcoming the foreigner into our country of residence. Also pray that God’s church will recognize her identity more in Christ then in the state.
